“God spoke very clearly to me saying to stay in Buffalo, continuing in ministry rather than my plan of taking my university place in Bath, England. Against all advice I followed what I knew in my heart that I should do,” explains Ben Tagg who serves as Ministry Director for Steps Ministry based at 1221 Seneca St in the Seneca Babcock neighborhood of South Buffalo. Steps is a part of Pure for God ministry led by Brad and Robin Ringer and has a vision to show God's love to those whom the traditional church may not reach like the crack addicts, school drop outs, single parents, drunks, gang members and more. Their desire is to see God restore these broken families through discipleship, teaching righteousness, and to lead people to an encounter with God. Gabi Nonnenman, Managing Director originally from Germany agrees that Buffalo is a mission field, “To me, a missionary is not someone who crosses the sea but someone who sees the cross,” she explained. The outreach includes after school programs, community Bible study, discipleship and mentoring, home visits and youth trips to ministry events like Joshua Revolution. The ministry has need for more volunteers, financial contributors and prayer. Find out more at www.pureforgod.org/STEPS.wss. Their next fundraiser is March 31 @ Cazenovia Park Baptist Church, N Legion Drive, Buffalo 14220, spaghetti dinner $10 per ticket.
